How To Tame a Brontosaurus ARK?

To tame a Brontosaurus is may be dangerous without the right skill, here we will go into detail how to remain safe and tame this beast.

Brontosaurus roam freely around ark without any threat in the wild, their size allows them to stay safe and attack with power.

A swing of their tail can kill you and standing under them will slowly crush you. When it comes to taming it we aim to keep distance from it by using the method “Hit and run”.

To tame it with this method you will need the following:

Taming Tool

Recommended tool for taming a bronto

  • Crossbow with tranq arrows: Fast and cheap, bring an extra crossbow since it may break, don’t worry about their health since brontosaurus has far too much!
  • Longneck with tranq darts: has higher durability and knocks out slightly faster

The fastest method is to use your own character. However, if you have the option of using a mount, we recommend doing so for safety.

  • Character with 130% movement speed or higher
  • Land dinosaur that allows you to use weapon while riding

Once you’ve located the Bronto, shoot it from afar. They’ll get aggressive and chase you, but because they’re slow, you can keep a distance. Repeat fire until it falls down

What Do Brontosaurus Eat in ARK?

Brontos are herbivores, meaning they only eat plants. To maintain its large size, it consumes more berries than any other herbivore in ARK: Survival Evolved.  A wide variety of food can be used to tame the bronto. Foods that the bronto will like are listed below (from best to worst):

  • Exceptional Kibble
  • Crops
  • Mejoberry
  • Other Berries

Dinosaurs can be tamed faster if the food is higher on the list. There is always an advantage to giving dinos kibbles, but only if you give them the one they like, other kinds will have no effect at all.

But to tame the early level brontosaurus, just regular mejoberry will do just fine. Alternatively, if you’re looking for high-level, please consider them. It saves you quite a bit of time and resources. Remember that they will eat larger quantities of berries if you decide to use 300-1000!

Uses for a Tamed Bronto

Let’s look at a few of the great things that bronto can be used for in order to better understand what they are capable of.

Farm Resources: The brontosaurus is the new meta in farming on GEN1+2 due to it’s huge aoe farming ability ( the swing). Larger tribes farm 500.000+ Crystal, fiber and many more resources on these maps.

Defense for PVP: Due to their large aoe knockback, enemies cannot get into your base and their high health makes killing them time-consuming.

Transport Goods: Brontos can transport goods a great distance, but sometimes you need more than the bronto can handle. If you pack your resources on something like a high level parasaur or iguanodon, the platform-saddle only has to carry the Dinos drag weight, not the resources themselves!

How to Hatch Bronto Eggs in ARK

Obtain the egg

You will need to breed one female and one male to get a fertilized egg. To breed, two creatures of the same species must be of the opposite sex. To begin mating, enable the breeding setting.

There is a cooldown on mating, so make sure the creature hasn’t mated recently. Breeding intervals for Brontosaurus range from 18 to 48 hours.

To incubate an egg, you will need to keep it in an area with a steady temperature.

  • Air Conditioners x 14
  • Egg Incubator

The time and temperature at which you incubate an egg will vary. This is why air conditioners and egg incubators are the best choice. They will regulate the temperature for you.

Ideally, the egg should be between 28°C and 31°C. In accordance with the official servers, the small brontosaurus baby hatches after about five hours. You then devote another 9.5 hours to putting berries, vegetables, etc. (see above) in its inventory. You should pay attention to the imprint intervals every 8 hours to get the most out of your baby’s potential.

Once it reaches juvenile status, it can feed on its own from troughs. Maturation takes about 3 days and 20.5 hours.

Additional Information About How To a Tame Brontosaurus

In terms of size and appearance, the Brontosaurus stands out from any other sauropod dinosaur. Their necks and tails are incredibly long in comparison to their bodies. Compared to their fellow sauropods, they have very smooth scales and tiny spines along their backs, as well as a graceful, arching neck. Their colors tend to be very dark, black, and green browns; but they are rare in brighter shades. In the wild, it is usually found alone or in small groups, browsing at heights well above those of smaller herbivores.

Wild Behaviour:

Despite not being aggressive or built for combat, Brontosaurus can deal plenty of damage with their main weapon: sheer bulk. Characters below mid-level can die from a tail swipe, which is their primary attack. It is also possible for them to cause damage simply by stepping on things, sometimes intentionally when they are aggravated and sometimes by accident. Tail swipes do more damage than stomping, have a long reach, and throw you in the direction in which they are swiped. Health is also a major strength of the Brontosaurus. The best way to kill one is with ranged weapons or high-level hunting dinos. There are few wild creatures that dare hunt Brontosauruses, and if you ever stumble across one under attack, it’s a good indication that you’re in the presence of someone or something you don’t want to take on alone.
